THERAPY FOR EXECUTIVES

It can be lonely when you’re a leader. Embody clarity instead of just enduring every day.

Performing under pressure has become your norm. The problem is, you haven’t learned how to slow down and take a breather.

If most of the people who know you were to describe you, they’d probably say you’re the one who’s got everything handled. You’re the one who’s composed, decisive, and reliable. And while those people aren’t wrong, there’s so much they don’t see. Most days you feel like you’re running on empty, and you don’t feel like you can be fully honest about that with your peers, friends, or family.

Many of the clients I work with have had to be the one that others rely on, particularly in stressful situations. (Perhaps it’s no coincidence many of you have chosen the professional path you have!) You’ve built your career on being the reliable and consistent one, though now, the constant demand to have an answer and stay composed is starting to cost you something. Perhaps you’re noticing that you’re increasingly more annoyed with your loved ones than you want to be. Maybe you feel distant, or even isolated, from the friends you used to hang out with most weekends. The executives I work with are successful by many different external measures, but they often feel like something deeper is missing in their lives.

This might be you if you’re:

  • Keeping a good game face at work, but internally feeling like you’re drowning from all the expectations and responsibilities

  • Feeling alone, even when you try to talk to loved ones, because so few people actually understand the weight of the role you’re in

  • Making high-pressure decisions with no space to process them

  • Achieving more every year while feeling less and less connected to your achievements

how i can help

Therapy for executives, in Portland, Beaverton, Bend, and throughout Oregon

Addressing the toll of executive leadership can help you lead from a place of real clarity and resolve instead of endurance. There are numerous ways the pressures of leadership manifest for people. I'll hear things like:

"I don't have anyone I can really say this to."

“I don’t have any people or spaces where I can just share how I’m feeling without needing to ‘fix’ or ‘solve’ the issue.”

"I'm supposed to have all this stuff figured out, because no one else is going to step up."

I use IFS (Internal Family Systems) and somatic embodiment and awareness exercises to help clients move from constant performance and depletion to grounded confidence and genuine connection.
